If it is time for your pet….

As a boy of sixteen, a skinny, irascible young cat came into my life. Twenty-two wonderful years later, my wonderful old grimalkin P.B. underwent acute kidney failure. I had to fulfill my duty to my companion, to release her from her discomfort, her pain, her confusion.

I e-mailed Compassionate Pet Vet and less than an hour later, Kimberly emailed me back offering an appointment that evening.

How I lavished my old lady with love and affection and sweet whispers that afternoon; how I tried my best to communicate an entire adulthood of love in just a few short hours.

Dr. Kimberly arrived at exactly the appointment time; not one minute before, not one minute after. She showed true compassion and affection for P.B; she comported herself with the gravity and dignity that these wonderful companions truly deserve in their last moments.

Thanks to Dr Kimberly, I was able to treat my beloved companion with the kindness, compassion and love that she deserved. I can sleep better at night knowing that she was as comfortable as possible, able to choose to lay down for her final moments.

Her body was treated with the same dignity, and for that I am infinitely grateful.

Additionally, being able to determine after-care steps at the time and pay for it in one step reduced the uncertainties and stress of the situation, it eased my acceptance of the situation, it reduced stress.
