Dr. Maggie was extremely respectful and courteous. She was quick to respond to emails and texts, and was able to plan to meet within less than 24hr notice. She gave us plenty of time to say goodbye, privately, and told us step by step what she was doing and what to expect. She sedated him first, so he would relax and feel no pain from the final injection. We were allowed to put him in his favorite spot in the window and love on him til it was time to give the last injection, and then we coddled and petted him as he passed away. She was very quiet and moved slowly and with true respect and caring for our kitty. She also pre-arranged for a cremation service to come by and get him afterwards; I know I wouldn’t have had the emotional strength to do so myself. I love that there is a service out there for things just like this–my kitty hated the car and hated the vet more (especially since he had been sick and making more frequent visits). The cost is about the same as the vet, though without the trauma of having him in a vet’s office. Austin Pet Memorial Service collected him for cremation and treated him with the utmost respect. They have a basket/blanket policy where they have a huge wicker basket and blankets to place your pet in like they were sleeping. I would highly recommend Dr. Maggie and her services.
