Words can’t express how Dr. Maggie helped our family say goodbye to our dog of 17 long years. “Little” or “Little Lilly” was a member of our family and she lived a long life in Dallas and Austin, Texas.
Little Lilly traveled the state as a reporter’s sidekick and was a regular at Lakeway Marina in Austin. She loved greeting people and stopping for French fries while traveling around Texas highways for work with me, her momma. She loved going to the beach with her “dad” and sister pups. She was one of those dogs who “smiled” literally. Big smiles, ever since I rescued her in 2000. She was a bright light in our lives and it was a miracle that a big 48 lb dog like she was could live to be 17. She was a gift… and when it came time for her to leave us, Dr. Maggie MacDonald was also our gift.
Dr. Maggie gave us the gift of love and peace as we buried her on our property in the Hill Country. She was a peaceful presence and allowed us to grieve. She was professional and yet, family-like to us. The process was moving and surrounded by love. We considered Dr. MacDonald our friend instantly… she helped us ease the transition for our precious “Little.” We are incredibly grateful to her and support her work wholeheartedly. You can’t imagine what her service provides you with in your heart, until you go through this type of experience. When you do, your heart is overflowing with gratitude and love… for the opportunity to say farewell with so much peace. Our sweet angel, left this world in total peace.
