My kitty had stopped eating, and seemed to be in pain.

I used to work with Maggie MacDonald at Animal Trustees of Austin which is no longer in existence.  She is the kindest, most compassionate vet I have ever known.  I asked her to come to my home last week to euthanize a semi-feral cat who had lived on my property for 16 years.  My kitty had stopped eating, and seemed to be in pain.  I explained to Maggie that the kitty freaked out whenever she had to go into my house, and didn’t like strangers.  I asked her if there was a way she could euthanize her without subjecting her to more fear and pain.

I was able to put my kitty into a carrier, and Maggie took care of the rest of it. She got right down on the ground with us and was able to administer the initial calming drug while the kitty was in the carrier.  We waited until the kitty was relaxed and Maggie very gently administered the euthanasia drug.  Maggie made a very sad experience much more calming for both of us.  I very much appreciate her kindness and willingness to work with an unusual situation for the best possible outcome.  I heartily recommend her for end-of-life pet care.
